Volunteers - the backbone of our sport

As with all other competitive sports, aquatics has rules that must be upheld to encourage participation and ensure fair competition. 

Swim England Technical Officials are trained from our local volunteers to a range of levels and these roles provide an enjoyable opportunity to see the action and to participate in the smooth running of the event.

Processing swimmer entries, seeding the heats, running the electronic timing equipment and generating the results files are critical elements for a successful meet. 

If you're a confident PC user we will help you learn the specifics of the meet software and how to perform all the key functions of these roles.

Games Makers are a great introduction to volunteering. 

You could help with medals, trophies and organising swimmers ahead of their heats.
