The Executive Committee and representatives from the Jersey Amateur Swimming Association address a wide array of issues impacting aquatics in Jersey and beyond. Current and past concerns include:
- Availability, booking, and safe, responsible use of pool facilities for Member Club activities;
- Cost-effective access to Government of Jersey-owned pool facilities by Member Clubs;
- Constructive challenge and support for sponsorship applications to One Foundation;
- Sponsorship of the Jersey Amateur Swimming Association to provide benefits for Member Clubs and swimmers;
- Liaison with the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey and the Island Games Association of Jersey regarding international events and team selection;
- Collaboration with the Guernsey Amateur Swimming Association for the annual Channel Islands Championship and Inter-Insular events;
- Organization and coordination of fundraising events to support swimmer participation at international events, such as The Big Breakfast;
- Storage facilities for water polo equipment;
- Equipment for running licensed meets, including training for use, safe storage, repair, and replacement.
The swimming committee recognizes that the Association could not operate effectively without the ongoing support of various organizations in Jersey, and we value their engagement. We are always open to discussions on how to enhance the provision of aquatics in the island.
